SCC has an time-honored history of designing and fabricating unique products. Our coppersmiths and artisans produce the finest hand-made products available on the web today. Did you know that some of the earliest metal works recorded came from this region?
Each item we
make is painstakingly hand-made with techniques passed on from prior to the
16th century Spanish colonial period. We begin with a large ingot of copper
it is then forged and flattened into a sheet. The surface is hand hammered
into a totally unique design from rustic patterns to faithful reproductions
of modern and past design movements.
Hand-hammering is a rhythm, an art form that leaves an impression from the
hammers selected for their signature. Our master artisans are amongst the
finest in the world and our intricate hammered designs are often imitated,
never duplicated. The art of patination is both simple and complex. Many imitators
seek to create the patina finish on copper with dubious methods, thus creating
a "faux" finish guaranteed to fade and chip off the copper's surface.
Our patination process is a "hot" process involving, heat/flame/acids
and numerous other recipes SCC has formulated.
Each item that we produce is signed-off by the artisan prior to packing/shipping. Lastly, we actually love our craft and our aim at Santa Clara Copper is to produce one masterpiece at a time for you, the discerning client.
